ENLARGED LABIA AND VAGINAL LOOSENESS

Loss of "feeling" with sex? Vagina feel "loose or floppy"? Labia minora (vaginal lips) cosmetically unappealing or "in the way" during sex? Sex "just not the same"?

You do not have to feel this way. Minor surgical procedures are available to resculpt, "rejuvenate" and improve your genital image.

Like aesthetic procedures elsewhere, the same technique are used to revise, "tighten" and sculpt a woman's labia and vagina.

labiaplasty "Labial Reduction/Beautification" for large labia

Labia minora (the lips) of the vulva, stretching on each side of the vaginal opening from the clitoral hood to the perineum come in all shapes and sizes. There is a large span of normality from small strands to larger "elephant ears". It's all normal,( look at noses!) Like noses, or breasts, because it is in the range of normality doesn't mean that you as an individual are comfortable with the size and appearance of your labia.

Women see me in consultation for possible revision of the size of their labia for two reasons: medical and aesthetic (or a combination of the two).

Medical reasons for labiaplasty/labial reduction (surgery to reduce/modify labial size) include discomfort or irritation with tight pants, sports, cycling or other physical activities. In many instances women are born with large labia; others may develop the condition with childbirth or age.

Aesthetic (beautification) reasons include self consciousness and self esteem issues and a desire for sculpting to achieve a better look for one's self.

Vaginoplasty (Tightening and Rejuvenation of the Vagina for Vaginal Laxity)

An enlarged vagina is frequently a problem after childbirth, especially after multiple children, vaginal delivery of a large baby, or a difficult delivery.

The specialized surgical tightening and rejuvenation of the vagina, perineum (vaginal opening) and supporting muscles is called vaginoplasty. Many women with grown children are now seeking renewal of vaginal tissues, both to increase their "feeling", sexual satisfaction and to enhance the sexual experience they have with their loving mate.

Dr. Goodman's procedure is similar to "Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (TM), where a wedge of loosened upper vagina is removed to "tighten" the upper vagina. In addition, a SURx (TM) pelvic/bladder support procedure can be done to help with incontinence, if it's present.

Perineoplasty

A sequel of difficult childbirth or a vaginal/perineal tear from childbirth can create an unusually "open" vaginal orifice, which can lead to irritation from tight clothing, self-consciousness and diminished sexual enjoyment.

A plastic procedure to remove the scarred or lax opening, repair and elevate the perineum and bring the stretched levator muscles closer together is called perineoplasty.

Perineoplasty produces a normal approximation of the lax vaginal opening and elevates and tightens the muscles so that you can use Kegels exercises or Athena more effectively to provide more sensation and "gripability" at the vaginal opening.
